The Heinrich Böll Foundation’s scholarship program is meant for German and international students who are interested in pursuing master or doctoral programs. One fun fact about this scholarship is that it is opened twice every year (In March & In September). Kindly take note that only online applications will be accepted and considered for this award.
Requirements
EU Students:
- Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree.
- Applicants can only apply for a Master’s degree.
- Additionally, they must possess a German language proficiency certificate (Level B2 or DSH2).
Non-EU Students
- Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree.
- Applicants can only apply for a Master’s degree.
- Students from outside the EU who have never studied in Germany are eligible to apply for this scholarship
- Additionally, they must possess a German language proficiency certificate (Level B2 or DSH2).
- This scholarship is for Students who have never studied in Germany before
Doctorate Degree Criteria:
- Non-German applicants will need to show evidence of their language skills in order to be considered.
- Applicants must present proof of acceptance into a Doctorate program at a German or state-recognized university.
German/Non-German students:
- (Students who have studied in Germany before)
- Scholarship amounts vary for every individual based on their level of income or parents’ income.
- The maximum amount of scholarship will be €649 and €300 for books every month.
Benefits
German/Non-German students:
- The highest monthly scholarship amount will be €649, plus €300 for books.
- Scholarship amounts may vary from student to student based on their income or their parent’s income.
EU Students:
- Students will get a monthly allowance of €850 together with other different allowances.
Doctorate Degree
EU Students:
- Successful applicants will receive a monthly of €1350 as well as a €100 research allowance on a monthly basis
Non-EU Students:
- You will receive a monthly stipend of €1200 plus a monthly allowance of €100 for research
- In addition, the Chevening scholarship will cover other allowances.
For German/Non-German students:
- Successful applicants will receive a monthly of €1350 as well as a €100 research allowance on a monthly basis
