What is a statutory holiday?
A statutory holiday is a public holiday recognized by the federal government. On this day employers of the various governmental and non-governmental institutions are entitled to a day off without losing pay on these dates.
Thursday, 4th August 2022 which marks Founders’ Day in Ghana should be observed throughout the country as a Statutory Holiday.
The statement which declared Thursday, 4th August 2022 as a Public Holiday through a press release was issued and signed on July 28, 2022, by the Minister For The Interior, Ambrose Dery (Mp).
