Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) Reverses Discount on Import Value For Cars and other Products Effective January 1

The discount on the Home Delivery Value (HDV) of automobiles and the import values of other commodities would be completely reversed as of January 1, 2023, according to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).

The decision will affect the 30% discount on import values of general commodities and the 10% reduction on HDV of used automobiles, beginning January 1, 2023, according to a statement released in Accra by the Commissioner-General.

According to the Authority, the choice was made after the government’s economic and budgetary plan for the fiscal year that ends on December 31, 2023, was presented.

It stated that all items would continue to be valued in accordance with sections 67 and 60 of the Customs Act 2015 (Act 891), as well as the World Trade Organization’s (WTO) valuation agreement and compendium (general goods).

The public was urged to support and assist the GRA in the statement.
