The largest opposition party in Ghana, NDC, recently held its regional election.
Ashanti Regional NDC Chairman aspirant, Lawyer Evans Amankwa, lamented about how he lost the just ended election upon all he invested. In an interview on Akoma FM, he said he blew over GHC460,600 on just the day of the election. He used this monies to settle all the delegates before the election commenced.

he budgeted GH¢350 for lunch and transportation for each delegate, summing up to almost GH¢ 500,000. funny enough, Lawyer Evans Amankwa claims he does not regret spending such an amount on the just ended election.  Interestingly, he says he was expecting exactly what happened.

“I wasn’t surprised at yesterday’s results though I was confident of winning the election. I was as well aware that anything could have happened, so I have spent hugely on the just-ended elections, but it was my decision, so I never regret my actions,” he said.
The election was held at Baba Yara sports stadium on the 13th of November,2022 for the party members to select their executives.
It’s been recorded that Over 1,400 delegates participated in the election.

At the end of the election, Chairman Augustus Nana Akwasi Andrews polled 637 which makes him retain his office while lawyer Evans Amankwa secured only 572 votes. Another candidate, Yaw Owusu Obimpeh scored third with 137 votes.

The higher Education Minister of Afghanistan, Neda Mohammad Nadeem, said on state television that the ban was implemented because female students were not following the dress code, the BBC reports.

Until further notice, the ban stated that female students wouldn’t be allowed in any of the country’s universities or even private universities. According to Neda Mohammed, the ban is imposed to preserve ‘national interest’, women’s ‘honor’. The Afghanistan government also said women could no longer visit mosques or attend seminaries.

Otunbayeva claimed the move “undermined” the Taliban administration’s relationship with the international society and the disregard for the stated concerns keeps them “at something of an impasse.”

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has shifted its yearly re-sit examination to next year, 2023. This could be because of the just called-off strike by the University Unions. It is announced to the staff and students of KNUST that, Supplementary Examinations for final years shall be held from Monday, January 9, 2023, to Friday, January 20, 2023.

According to the school management, continuing students with trailed papers are advised to take the chance to redeem their outstanding trials during the scheduled re-sit examinations. This includes pupils who should have repeated in the previous academic year but promoted themselves to the next level without having cleared trailed papers.

The registration portal for the 2022 KNUST Supplementary Examinations will be opened on 1st January,2023.

Re-sit examinations are always held at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology every year. Also, to the exams that are scheduled during the long break, pupils have the option of taking the exams during the major exam for the semester.

These tests are always requested and taken in person.
