Here are 13 survival tactics you should start practicing in our current economic turbulence if you really want money to work for you.
The thing is that survival tactics do not begin from when you receive your salary but rather before you receive your salary.
Let me share some survival tactics I`ve learned so far from most successful people.
Move into a smaller apartment or into a family home (to cut rent cost which is one major zapper of income). Save what you make and reinvest to obtain your own accommodation. Choose good but relatively inexpensive schools for your kids if you have any. Don’t move around if you don’t have to. Save fuel and transport cost.
2. Choose wisely a partner that can weather a storm and be supportive
Be very mindful when choosing a life partner. your spouse should of course be frugal and wise with money. Make sure you equip your spouse as well so you both share the household expenses. As the saying goes” behind every successful man is a good woman”.
3. Find residual income if possible
Start Side hustles like buying and selling, consultancy or invest in someone’s business if you don’t have the time to do the side hustle. These side hustles take thing to mature, so take your time with the processes.
4. Support friends and family and they will support you when you are broke (or if they don’t, someone else might)
5. Keep researching investment solutions and options.
There may always be a more promising business or investment opportunity but do thorough research and don’t be desperate. e.g. crypto may perform better than treasury bills but there are risks if you don’t do your own research.
6. Invest in tools and gadgets that will help you do things you typically might pay for. e.g. fixing broken things in your house.
7. Grow a garden or rear animals if possible
The prices of foodstuff keep rising. having a garden would save you money. start a backyard garden if you can.
8. Employ someone and be strict (or you lose money)
convert your car to a taxi or uber, buy an Okada for someone to use. Remember to be strict though. Many people will beg you for a job and start misbehaving when you give it to them. Insure your car.
9. Have separate accounts or wallets and separate different funds across them
This will help you avoid spending funds you have lumped together. e.g putting residual income in a separate account might prevent you from spending it rather than lumping all your cash into one wallet.
10. Allocate a fixed amount out of your income for having fun.
“All work and no play makes Jack a lazy boy “…You need your sanity to keep working and earning money. Also, by allocating, you know you are exceeding your chilling limit. Every month go out at least once , go chill , go party , make friends but have a fixed budget.
11. Strengthen your social network/connections on a day-to-day basis
Yes! … In this part of the world , staying politically, socially and globally connected helps alot.we can all attest to that fact. The rich keeps on getting rich because the rich is around riches and rich people. “you become the people you keep around you”.
12. Make it a point to do savings/investment
This is very necessary, this is not rocket science too. Save every damn week. give yourself a range to save every single week. No matter what amount you earn, make sure you save money . I hope you`re aware saving helps you go well about uncertainties.
13.Start online jobs
There are so may online jobs you can do to earn money. you can run simple surveys, test apps, write articles, play games, watch videos and get paid for that. you can even create a Youtube account, choose a niche and start creating content. you would have to read Youtube`s terms and policies though.
Make it a point to apply these shared practices. your finances would work for you as wished.
