The DeepMind Scholarship at Queen Mary University of London is a program to support and encourage underrepresented groups to pursue postgraduate education in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Computer Science.

The scholarships are for female and/or black students as these students are currently underrepresented in these areas of study.

 About Queen Mary University of London

Queen Mary University of London (QMUL, or informally QM) is a public research university in London, England, and a constituent college of the federal University of London. It dates back to the foundation of London Hospital Medical College in 1785.

Queen Mary College, named after Mary of Teck, was admitted to the University of London in 1915 and in 1989 merged with Westfield College to form Queen Mary and Westfield College.

In 1995 Queen Mary and Westfield College merged with St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical College and the London Hospital Medical College to form the School of Medicine and Dentistry.

Queen Mary has five campuses across East and Central London in Mile End, Whitechapel, Charterhouse Square, Lincoln’s Inn Fields and West Smithfield, as well as an international presence in China, France, Greece and Malta.

The Mile End campus is the largest self-contained campus of any London-based Russell Group university. In 2018/19 the university had around 26,000 students.

Queen Mary is organised into three faculties – the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Faculty of Science and Engineering and Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry.

Each DeepMind Scholarship will cover the cost of tuition fees, £12,250 (International fees – £28,950), a living allowance of £15,480, an annual £2,200 travel scholarship and a one-off equipment grant of £1,700.

Requirements

To be eligible to apply for a DeepMind Scholarship you must:
  • Be a UK or International student.
  • Identify as female and/or are of Black ethnicity – each being underrepresented groups in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science.
  • Have a confirmed offer to study on one of the following programs in September 2023: MSc in Artificial Intelligence (Full Time), MSc Computer Science (Full Time), MSc Computer Games (Full Time), MSc in Machine Learning for Visual Data Analytics (Full Time), MSc Robotics (Full Time) at Queen Mary University of London.

Interview date, Process and Venue for Queen Mary University of London master’s Scholarship

A selection panel will shortlist applications and take a final decision on which five students will receive the award. Applicants will receive notification of the outcome by 31 July 2023.

  • A copy of your offer letter to study on one of the following programs at Queen Mary: MSc in Artificial Intelligence (Full Time), MSc Computer Science (FT), MSc Computer Games, or MSc in Machine Learning for Visual Data Analytics (FT), MSc Robotics (FT) program.
  • A completed application form, including a short statement of no more than 500 words detailing why you should be considered for the award and what motivated your interest in this area of study at Queen Mary University of London.

The School of Public Health, University of Antioquia in Medellin, Colombia, is pleased to announce a new extension to the Call for Applications for the award of TDR Postgraduate Training Scholarships for a two-year Master of Public Health (MPH) postgraduate program, with specialization in implementation science, for the academic session 2023–2025, beginning in August 2023.

This full scholarship is supported by TDR, the UNICEF/UNDP/World Bank/WHO Special Program for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases, based at the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland.

Only candidates and residents in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) of the World Health Organization Region of the Americas are eligible to apply.

Selection Criteria:

The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and the strength of a personal statement.  Candidates must have, or expect to obtain, the overseas equivalent of a UK first-class honours degree.
