We have an exciting opportunity based in Accra, Ghana, where The Cloudburst Group is contributing to the implementation of the four-year USAID/Ghana Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Platform activity designed to provide expert monitoring, evaluation and learning services to USAID/Ghana staff, implementing partners, and Ghanaian stakeholders. The project is designed to improve USAID/Ghana’s ability to engage in evidence-based program design and increase its ability to measure, analyze and communicate the impact of USAID programming in Ghana.
RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
The social/behavior change specialist will:
- Ensure the design of all program activities and communications are informed by social and behavior change (SBC) theories and knowledge.
- Work closely with program leads to assess and address SBC gaps by proving inputs to project components, including workplans, reports, and monitoring and evaluation. Help establish program SBC goals, objectives, and targets.
- Lead project strategies to routinely collaborate and engage with communities to implement SBC activities that identify and address social and cultural barriers.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and support in engaging priority populations and community stakeholders in designing, planning, and tailoring SBC interventions that address drivers and barriers to USAID program goal adoption
- Partner with local governments, community organizations, and schools on SBC events.
- Monitor the implementation of SBC activities, ensuring that SBC objectives, targets, and deliverables are achieved on time and on budget.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Undergraduate degree experience in communications, psychology, sociology, economics, media, international development, or a related degree.
- Minimum of eight years of experience in conducting social behavior change activities for donor-funded projects, preferably USAID.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and manage challenging and complex projects that engage a variety of community and government stakeholders, including vulnerable or sensitive groups.
- Excellent organizational skills to sort and structure content, projects, logistics, and budgeting.
- Demonstrated appropriate interpersonal and communication skills for an effective team environment, including patience and a sense of humor.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and online communications tools including Zoom, Google Meet, etc.
- Able to juggle work on multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written communications and copy-editing skills with a high attention to grammar and detail.
- Self-starter able to work with a highly collaborative team and adapt to an ever-changing environment.
- Strong proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Experience working in Ghana is required.
