University of Ghana, UG, being the largest University in Ghana has a non-political fraternity within which calls itself the Concern Students Association of the University of Ghana.
This group of people has taken to the streets of Accra the past two days the ‘Ya Br3 Mo’ (We are tired of you) demonstration.
Apparently, this is not the first demonstration the fraternity has embarked on.
The ‘Ya Br3 Mo’ demonstration, the fraternity members said, is to express their discontent with a number of actions made recently by the UG Management.
A few of these are the over 30% fee increase and the lodging issues, among others.
“Vice Chancellor Must Go”, “Build More Hostels on Campus”,” change the SRC election processes”, “Practice the Democracy you Preach”, “stop the SRC executives from embezzlement”, and “Reinstate the Residents of Commonwealth Hall,” among other slogans, are written on the placards held by the demonstrators.
To deliver their petition to the university administration, the protesters are walked from the Obra Spot at the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange (Circle) to Independence Square
