During a New York Times interview with the tech avant-garde Elon Musk concerning AI, he emphatically stated that artificial intelligence would take over humans in the next three to five years.
This could be more than 80% true looking at how our working field is changing. As of now, most CEOs and HRs find it worthy to invest in machines and automation as it provides higher productivity, improve performance, and better GDP growth.
Before I continue, how simply and best do we describe Artificial intelligence? With AI, computers can perform tasks that are typically done by people, including processing language, problem-solving, and learning.
1. Doctors
We are already witnessing robot-surgeons perform critical operations worldwide, and it’s only a matter of time before they completely replace us. Robotic doctors will make more accurate and effective treatments for the patients compared to their human counterparts. There is also less chance of infection due to more sterile measures and no room for human error.
2. Soldiers
It’s obvious most part of the military profession would be replaced by Robots. A time would come that human soldiers would not have to go to battlefield for war or peace keeping. computer instructions would be induced into Machines to do so. There therefore would be less or no supervision on field during operations. Currently robots are being used in military operations for various tasks such as surveillance and intelligence.
Recently, the head of the UK military stated that “autonomous robots could soon form a quarter of the British army by 2030.”
3. Taxi and bus drivers
From most car producing companies and car dealership business’s point of view, It is expected of that there’s a 98% chance that vehicles would be self-driving. self-driving cars are even already here looking at the like of Tesla Modern vehicles. it wouldn’t be long for self-driving cars to take over the whole transportation sector.
4. Market research analysts
Research analysts are crucial for every organization. They conduct market research to increase the performance of their business. AI-enabled robots are gaining popularity in this sector because of the comprehensive data that they provide.
5. Security guards
AI has made a very significant improvement in terms of physical security for man. An instance is Yelp’s security robot which can inspect a building with its high-definition camera. It also has a directional mic and infrared sensor that can detect any suspicious activity. Governments and big companies are now investing much into CCTVs , alarming equipments which are all birthed from the idea of A.I . There is an 84% chance that AI will fully automate this sector in the future.
6. Couriers
It’s funny how Drones and robots are already running errands and doing deliveries . it is expected of that the courier industry would decrease by 5% in the next 2 years due to the fact that robots and drones will be working as couriers in replace of humans. during the COVID 19 pandemic, most government’s used drones to transport suspected COVID 19 patient’s blood samples, food items and drugs to hospitals, labs and remote areas to avoid human movement which could spread the virus.
7.Adverting Salespeople
Lay people can even advertise their products and services on social media without an Ad personnel or agency. This is due to the friendly interface of most social media platforms. Advertisement at the moment is more of social media and web than printing and TV . Business people won’t really need ad space to advertise as social media is a wider marketplace than our traditional advertising way .it is expected of for the ad industry to decline as it’s even happening now.
8. Receptionists
Pam predicted this back on The Office, but in case you’re not a fan, automated phone and scheduling systems can replace a lot of the traditional receptionist role — especially at modern technology companies that don’t have office-wide phone systems or multinational corporations.
9. bookkeeping clerks and data entry Jobs
These roles are expected to decline 8% by 2024, and it’s no surprise why –seems most bookkeeping role is becoming automated. Looking at Microsoft office suite, Freshbook, QuickBooks and many other softwares already offer a software that does the bookkeeping for you that’s much more affordable than a person’s salary, so it’s no surprise this job has such a high probability in declining.
10.Proofreaders
Proofreading apps has been rampant which has caused the decrease in demand for proofreaders. I often use Grammarly to do most proofreading of my writings which most often is Worth it. WPS’s spell checker also helps me anytime I’m typing. there are a whole lot of other free softwares to help self-check your writing. It is likely for the demand of proofreaders to decline by 7 % by next year.
In my next article, I would share with You professions artificial Intelligence cannot even afford to replace in the near future.
