OMG! Violence erupts during NDC Women’s Conference: 16 Men declared wanted

OMG! Violence erupts during NDC Women’s Conference: 16 Men declared wanted for engaging in a brutal fight during the just-ended NDC National Youth Organizer and Women’s Organizer Conference dated December 11, 2022. These and some other persons were noted to have disagreed on a so far unknown argument causing the said fight. As of now,3 party members have been injured badly plus properties have been damaged. The Police have placed a GHC10,000 bounty on information that would lead to the arrest of all 16 persons involved in the violence

“While proceedings were ongoing at the Congress two rival groups violently clashed throwing stones, blocks, sticks, clubs, chairs among others, causing injury to three persons and destruction to property.”
“The intervention of the Police brought the situation under control for the processes to continue to the end without any further incident.”
“After an initial review of Police-specific video footages of the event, 16 suspects have so far been identified as some of the people involved in the violence and have been declared wanted,” -part of the Police communique reads.

“Investigation is ongoing to further identify and arrest other perpetrators involved in the violence to face justice,” it concluded.
University of Cape Coast Examination Hall was the venue this clash occured .

The purpose of the event was for party members to elect the party`s National Youth and Women’s Organizers and their deputies. This is done in preparation of 2024 national elections.
