Mr. Francis Atayure Abirigo, a concerned resident of the Chiana-Paga Constituency (Kassena-Nankana West District Assembly), has praised H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufu-Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana, for balancing mercy and justice by asking the disciplinary committee (DC) to lift the total sack conditions imposed on the eight female students of Chiana Senior High School in the Kassena-Nankana West District of the Upper East Region.
On January 14, 2023, on a Saturday, he sent this to journalists.
Further pleading with the school’s disciplinary committee, Mr. Abirigo urged them to follow the president’s lead and penalise the students less severely or not at all, keeping in mind that they are novices and have already expressed regret in a video that we have all seen.

The school’s student body will develop a mocking attitude toward these female students, and they will be permanently labeled as undisciplined, which is sufficient punishment for the eight kids.
“You cannot ignore the fact that you have pardoned your own children at home many times, so therefore what the committee can do is to pardon these students to allow them to concentrate on their studies and the Ghana Education Service (GES) intensifying measures to encourage general discipline.”
“I say this because the GES and the school authorities, including the presidency, cannot exonerate themselves from the indiscipline that is engulfing our education system.”
The concerned citizen, who is also a journalist and a specialist in development communications, urged the media and all other stakeholders in development to pay close attention to the conclusion of the committee’s work on the issue in the future.
