Approximately 7,000 Ghanaians were expecting the musician to perform last night, but he did not show up at the Accra Sports Stadium. Some Wizkid supporters refused to leave The Accra Sports Stadium in the hopes that the Grammy-winning singer would appear.

Since tickets for his event, which was set to take place on Saturday, December 10, 2022, ranged in price from GHC 300 to GHC 3,200, many people are calling it a complete waste of time and money.

The audience was upset and angry as they waited impatiently for Wizkid to take the stage since 2 p.m. the day before. They either demanded a refund or insisted on watching Wizkid perform before leaving.

Except for the man of the moment, several performances from artists like Gyakie, Darkovibes, Efya, and others were seen.

According to reports, anticipation was hevy and the environment was upbeat when Wizkid’s official Disc Jockey, “DJ Tunez,” joined the stage with some live band music. Many people reportedly believed the “Essence” hitmaker would follow.

The crowd’s excitement, however, began to wane as the live band mixes took longer than anticipated, and yet the organizers continued to fail to provide adequate communication to update them on WizKid’s progress.

According to reports, the crowd was left in suspense until 5:00 am.

One Dr. King Winter posted on his twitter ” I learnt the Wizkid concert, for vendors you’re to pay Ghc3,000 for a stand and also they`ll take 20% of whatever you make there…”  this is sad as it is believed sellers have run loss.

The crowd’s enthusiasm waned as the live band mixes took longer than anticipated, but the organizers still didn’t provide adequate communication to let them know about WizKid’s progress. The crowd became aware of the situation when Wizkid’s official DJ shouted repeatedly, “The promoter fucked up,” over Black Sherif’s “Kwaku the Traveller.”

Since then, disgruntled fans have flocked to social media to express their rage at how he treated them.

This is the height of one’s arrogance. An artist had about 7000 people waiting for him, but he chose not to come. It is pretty offensive, and the authorities should step in to prohibit and discipline him.

Wizkid should be prohibited, according to some, but the festival’s administrators disagree.
