We are seeking for a Customs Operations Specialist  who will support to develop and administer customs and trade compliance plans and processes to provide clearance of freight documentation through the relevant customs authorities, work with customers to guide and advise on customs regulation qualifications in line with business strategy and objectives, corporate guidelines and policies.

• Support administration of customs and trade compliance plans and processes to facilitate the timely, secure and cost-effective import, export and shipment of materials, equipment, products, packages, and documents across international borders.
• Implement customs brokerage activities such as preparing and maintaining shipping records, preparing bills of lading and perform various computations including duties, tariffs, price conversions, weights and volumes.
• Provide customs related import/ export services to TBO and NTBO transports
• Conduct classification of goods based on information provided by the customers
• Review shipped items, shipping validity dates and debits and duties/ tariffs at government institutions
• Identify, obtain and collate documents required for obtaining permits, licenses, and certificates for customs clearance
• Perform daily shipment documentation work, customs declarations and other required documents including post clearance modifications according to regulations and internal procedures
• Process, handle, distribute and archive all required documents in the shipping area
• Perform booking and booking optimization according to internal guidelines as defined by product team
• Raise bills to customers for services, examine invoices and shipping documents to ensure compliance with regulations
• Co-ordinate with overseas office to check and verify shipment information
• Communicate with external organizations such as customs authorities or shipping agents to verify customs requirements and finalize shipping costs and times
• Identify and resolve recurring issues, and suggest modifications for customs work methods focusing on increasing effectiveness and efficiency, and controlling costs
• May provide functional guidance, advice or training to less experienced positions
• Advice customers on legal (e.g. trade compliance – shipments to sanctioned countries) and customs topics

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• At least three (3) years’ previous experience in Customs Operations and Documentations.
• Ability to identify customer needs by gathering information and building long-term relationships
• Knowledge of customs regulations, customs brokerage, customs declaration, customs valuation, customer requirements, tariffs, import/ export, CRM, denied party regulations, sanctions, export control, classification, bill of lading, certificate of origin, tracking etc.
