In the Ejura-Sekyedumase of the Ashanti Region, forty students from Ejuraman Anglican SHS were hospitalized after a dining hall collapsed on them following heavy rain.
In the incident that happened on Monday, February 6, 2023, at 5 p.m., five of the victims are in critical condition.
About 100 students were dining at the temporary building being utilized as the dining hall when it collapsed, according to the Municipal Fire Commander, DOIII Isaac Eduah, who spoke to Class News’ Elisha Adarkwah.
He claimed that during the event, some of the kids were running erratically, which caused a rush and therefore injured people.
The Ejura Government Hospital has taken the injured students in for medical attention.
