In a statement dated March 7, 2023, ECG addressed yet another issue of subpar prepaid network connectivity.
But, this time, the power distribution firm has placed the blame on two of its internet service providers, Glo and Vodafone Ghana.
The previous time there was a significant connectivity issue, the power provider attributed it to vandalism and looting of their facilities.
ECG is now dealing with serious network issues in the areas of Manya and Yilo Krobo.
The management of ECG in the Tema Area pleaded with the residents of the two communities on January 17, 2023, to be patient as their engineers tried to fix the issue.
Customers trying to load power onto their pre-paid metres are unable to do so when network issues arise.
To address the issue of households and companies not paying their electricity bills, prepaid metres were implemented.
it informed power users that it was on top of matters prior to its announcement. Consumers have been griping that they couldn’t buy electricity using their smart metres.
As a result, if their credits ran out, they were unable to connect to the national grid.
At the time, ECG attributed the difficulties on its installations being looted and damaged.
