3 armed robbers burnt for robbing & killing gold dealer

In the Western Region’s Moseaso village, which is part of the Amenfi West Municipality, three armed robbers were burned to death.

Eight robbers attacked the neighbourhood and killed Frank Arthur, a 51-year-old gold dealer, by shooting him. This infuriated the locals, who reacted angrily.

In an interview with Kaakyire Kofi Badu of Ahobrase FM in Asankragwa, a brother of the gold dealer named Richard Arthur stated that he received a distress call informing him that his brother had been shot by armed thieves.

“I called my brother around 6:30 am, but he didn’t pick up, so I requested someone to check the mining site to see if he was there.

I arrived there right after receiving word that my brother had been shot by armed robbers around ten minutes later. I immediately drove him to the hospital, but he was already dead when I got there.
,” he indicated.

He claimed that he was still at the hospital when he learned that some young people in the neighborhood had apprehended several of the armed thieves.

“When I received a call from the neighbourhood informing me that three of the armed robbers had been apprehended,

I was still in the hospital making arrangements for my brother’s body. When I later arrived in the neighbourhood, I saw that they had all been killed by burning.
,” he added.

He claims that the burned-out armed robbers are well-known locals who are also former inmates.

“In our neighbourhood, they have been terrorising the locals. Some of them are former criminals who are well-known figures in our neighbourhood.

The individuals on the run are from neighbouring areas, and we trust the police to quickly apprehend them.
,” he said.

Kaakyire Kofi Badu told Connect FM that the armed robbers’ leader and four others are currently on the run.

The three dead, he continued, have been placed in the Asankragwa Catholic Hospital as police continue their hunt for the others.

Residents gathered to get a sight of the burned victims’ remains, which were visible laying at the bucket of a pickup truck.
