How can I get admission to the university with D7?
There are some institutions that also provide pre-programs for candidates to study and write NOVDEC before gaining admission or mature entrance exams. GIMPA offers such programs for students who are interested in pursuing tertiary education.
They deliver this in two folds, one is for younger candidates who can go through their pre-program to gain qualifications to enter the full degree program. The second offering is for mature students who are older than 25 years and interested in pursuing a degree program.

What if I attempt NOVDEC but fail once more?
The universities will ask you to apply and rewrite the paper till you pass if you write NOVDEC and fail again. While working on the paper, you may be able to continue your education at some institutions, but others may require you to pass the exam in order to be admitted.
The school may permit you to graduate and withhold your certificate until you generate the required grade in select cases where students fail to produce a passing grade to replace their failed WASSCE course(s).
What should I do if I get a D7 in a required course, but I can’t still write NOVDEC?
If you’re still on the fence about getting a degree, you can look at other organizations that provide diploma programs.
Once you earn that certification, you can continue your education at a university to get a degree. Instead of the typical four years for a degree, this may take you five to six years. NIIT’s programs which offer a 3-year degree from the University of Greenwich in the UK, are another option.
Summary
You must earn good grades, and some schools even have cut-off points for particular programs, in order to graduate with a degree from one of Ghana’s best universities.
Do your best to work hard in high school to acquire the marks you need to get into the university of your choice.
Don’t give up though if you don’t fulfil the requirements; instead, sign up for NOVDEC and retake the exam, or just do it the hard way by going through a diploma programme to earn a top-up degree.
A certificate completed prior to a top-up degree gives you two qualifications that may make you appear more impressive to employers.
